Bio
Leonard Petronilo Madrid grew up in Portales, NM. He received a BFA in theatre from Eastern New Mexico University, A BA in Design for Performance ( Scenic and Lighting) from the University of New Mexico, and a Master’s of Fine Arts in Dramatic Writing from the University of New Mexico. He received the Kennedy Center ACTF Latinidad Playwriting Award for three plays Aurora, Tecolotito, and Perla. Leonard has worked as a designer, playwright, and actor in the Rocky Mountain region for over 20 years. He is a proud member of the artistic core of Blackout Theatre of Albuquerque, NM.
